Pro-Environmental Behaviour Study

Participant Information Sheet

Thank you for your interest in this research.

Please be advised that data collection has now ended, and the researchers have moved on to analysing and writing up their results.

My name is David Pescod and I am currently completing my Honours in Bachelor of Psychology at Curtin University. I am investigating reasons why people perform a range of pro-environmental behaviours.

If you are over the age of 18 years and an Australian resident, I would like to invite you to take part in an online survey for my research. If you choose to take part, you will be asked to complete a short 10 minute survey about your pro-environmental behaviour. If you proceed on to the survey, I will assume that you consent to all data you provide being used in this research. You will be asked to complete all questions in the survey.

Your involvement in the research is entirely voluntary. Only I and my supervisor will have access to your data. The data from the survey will not have your name or any other identifying information on it and in adherence to university policy, the data will be kept on a password protected hard drive for five years, before it is destroyed. Only group results will be reported, and these results may be used for academic publications as well as for my dissertation.

Following the survey, you will be given the option of entering your email address to have a chance of winning one of two $50 JB Hi-Fi gift cards. In order to protect your confidentiality, email addresses will be stored at a separate location to the surveys so they can in no way be linked to the data you provide.

On completion of the survey, it would be greatly appreciated if you could forward the survey URL on to people you know so they have the opportunity to take part. This would help me in gaining the required data to complete my research. To complete the survey, click on the link below.

If you would like further information about this research, please contact myself, David Pescod ( or my supervisor Dr Lyndall Steed (
